The Story
We were living in Georgia while I finished college, but we went home to PA for the Christmas holiday. Two days before Christmas, he took me to New York City. Our relationship started there in 2005, and we really hadn't been back since (because we had moved to Georgia).
In Central Park, he took me on a horse-drawn carriage ride. He "owed' me one from our first date, since he didn't take me on one back then, so I didn't think it was strange that we were taking one. About 10 minutes into the ride, he started randomly talking about my Christmas present and I was wondering what he was talking about. He reached into his jacket, and the driver for the carriage turned around and started telling us where John Lennon lived and where Ghost Busters was filmed. As soon as he turned around, Chris asked. In hindsight, it's pretty funny that his proposal was interrupted- but at the time I'm sure it was nerve-wracking for Chris.
I don't remember what he said because I was in shock, but I remember saying yes and kissing a lot a lot. Then the driver turned around and said, "Is that a ring?" and took a picture for us. I was so surprised and it couldn't have been any more perfect.
